5 Must Have Games (Xbox 360)

Lucky you. You’ve got some extra money lying around. But whatever shall you spend it on? Here’s an idea; why don’t you buy some new games for your Xbox? Below is a list of must have games for your Xbox 360, that I’ve put together just for you.

5. Fable II

This little RPG gem was praised as “one of the best RPGs out there” by some of my fellow journalists and to be honest, they’re not wrong. The game’s lovely graphics and its cunning style of gameplay make this game a wonderful addition to your video game collection.

4.Mass Effect

This sci-fi shoot ‘em up really had a “mass effect” on gamers (bad pun sorry :¬(D  We were enticed by its creative storyline and we were pleasantly dazzled by its huge array of weapons. I guess in this case it kinda does what it says on the box.

3. Gears of War 1/2

After the first mutant massacre title was released, tons of gamers flocked to their nearest GameStop or GAME retailer to buy an Xbox 360 console complete with the Gears of Wars games.Having been hailed as on of the main reasons that people have bought an Xbox 360 there’s no doubt that these games are pretty darn awesome!

2. BioShock

With this game, so many honours ensued and you can easily see why. The game offers many, many hours of fun-packed play-time, the fun aspect coming in the form in the ruthless, unforgiving slaughter of Splicers. With stunning visuals and an even more stunning plot, it’s no surprise as to why gamers everywhere love it so much.

1.Halo 3

Aah, the cult classic. This game is a well renowned “classic” in the world of gamers, with encyclopaedias ,comic books and even figurines dedicated to the game. This is a personal favourite of mine as the gameplay systematic = a heck of a lot of fun, the storyline is compelling and most of all the online mode is EPIC!!!!!

Which games do you think should be on the list? Tell me in the comments section.

inFamous Gameplay Video

Everyone loves sandbox games. That’s a fact. We love their extensive range of things to do, we love exploring their environments and most of all we love them because they’re a whole leap of fun! Just think about the way that gamers went crazy for Grand Theft Auto IV. That was a sandbox game. The newest edition to the sandbox roster is inFamous, the PS3 exclusive due for release at the end of May. What makes inFamous so interesting isn’t just the fact that it’s in the sandbox genre, it’s also also the mysterious plot that rules the game. If you haven’t got a clue about the plot, check out the inFamous wiki page. Below is a gameplay video that showcases the game’s amazing talents.

BioShock 2 Info Update

http://www.hd-report.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/bioshock-2-logo.png

Not much has been said about the much-awaited release BioShock 2 besides the confirmed rumour that you will play as the first Big Daddy (ever!) in the new game. Well , a multi-format video game magazine in the UK, GamesTm, has just ran an article in their newest issue that reveals a whole bunch of cool things that will be included in the sequel.

    The new features include:

  • Big Sister battles (she will come and find you once you have adopted 3 Little Sisters).
  • You will get to go against some new mutated Splicers!
  • Ventures underwater, away from rundown metropolis Rapture are now possible.
  • You will also be able to battle other Big Daddy’s as well as live ADAM slugs (only found underwater)

Peep this quote from the GamesTM article

Jordan Thomas- One of the designers who has worked and is working on BioShock and BioShock 2.

“The intent for the gameplay, rather ironically, is that you get to breathe. you can harvest live ADAM slugs, listen to pieces of the story, and indulge that voyeur muscle we all have and look back on Rapture”

5 Songs You Can Game To.

So you're killing zombies in Call Of Duty: World At War (COD:WAW) and you wanna play that killer soundtrack to go with your killing spree, Oh damn, you just realised that don't have any awesome CDs.What are you going to do!?! Don;t worry I've got your back with my list of 5 songs that can play games to.

1.Black Stone Cherry - Lonely Train

Heavy metal at it's best. This song, featured on WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 a few years ago. However it's not just wrestling games that this is prefect for, oh no! In act this song's thundering guitar cords and its roaring lyrics are perfect for games like Killzone 2 and Resident Evil 5.

2. Noah and the Whale - 5 Year's Time

Little Big Planet's super cute character, Sackboy. along with the intricately built levels go amazingly well with this song. Admit it, even though you act like a tough guy (or gal) when you slay Helghan warriors on Killzone 2, Noah and the Whale's beautiful 5 year's time makes you think of cute, fun lovin' kittehs and adorable puppy dogs doesn't it?

3. 50 Cent - In Da Club

You Can find me in the club, bottle full of bub. WTF is bub?
Not really a song that goes with every one's personalities as you can usually find me, at home chattin's on the phone killing Helghast, on Burnout driving fast. Lame, I know. However this song and all its cheesy glory goes very well with "gang-oriented" video games such as Saint's Row 2 or 50 Cent: Blood In The Sand.

4. Check This - Imperial Vipers

Little known British band, Imperial Vipers have got a few song on the net at the moment including Check This, Love's Fortune and Into Forever. The band's infectious rhythm and their lead vocalist's charming English accent all make this song a perfect companion to driving games such as Burnout or Project Gotham Racing.

Check the Imperial Vipers out on JamLegend (online Guitar Hero)

5. Crush Crush Crush - Paramore

I'm not going to lie, I am a HUGE fan of Paramore. Well, I'm a huge fan of all of the bands featured in this post, though Paramore are one of my favourites. Anyway, what I was going to was; Paramore are a much-loved band and they have many fans too, with their song Decode featuring in the popular Twilight movie and they are also touring this Summer with he newly 'reformed' band No Doubt. This song of theirs, Crush, is great to listen to when you're controlling disgruntled teens in The Sims games and many of the band's other more melodramatic songs are perfect fro when you feel like "getting rid" of your Sims with a BBQ!

What tunes do you like to listen to when you play video games? Tell everyone in the comments box.

Systematic Review: The Godfather 2

Rinse and repeat. Seriously. We gamers have enough of that when we wash our hair but it seems that EA chose this very same line for the foundations of their new game The Godfather 2.

Sure it looked in all of the adverts but unfortunately it doesn’t play even half as well as the trailers suggest. It all starts off with you, Dominic, the main character, as a fresh faced member of the Corleone family getting a once in a lifetime opportunity to start off your own family from scratch. Along the course of the game you will recruit new members to your family, own businesses in 3 different places (New York, Florida and Cuba) and plough through an uber-transparent storyline at an alarmingly speedy rate. So basically good times! Or so you’re led to believe.

As you make your way through the game you begin to notice some tremendous flaws. The most noticeable errors in the games dynamics are the graphics. In one word ; horrendous. It’s one thing that you have to rack up thousands of miles, due to the fact that driving around take forever (and a day), but it takes the cake that you don’t even get to do it in style. Each car that you come across is subtly categorised by either one of two factors. 1.Slow and decrepit or 2. Fast and ugly. Though having said that, regardless of what tired, old paint job a vehicle has, all of the cars in The Godfather 2 look like they have come from the same Lego brick factory.

Another extremely, gaping hole in the games mechanics is the repetitive over and over system that seems to get its sticky hands into every pore of the game. This was a dire concern that players of the first game had,had and with half an hour of playtime under my belt it seemed that it appeared to have been eradicated, though after another 30 minutes I could see in plain daylight that The Godfather 2 had gone back to its old ways. The businesses are identical, the run and gun antics become routine and every time you get into fisticuffs you are put to sleep because of boredom. However it’s not all repeated, the names of the goons that the game makes you slay endlessly are, ironically, different.

Last but not least, I must point your attention to the flimsy plot.Right from the get go you can see where the story writers have gone wrong. As your character Dominic races through the storyline it’s plain to see who’s going to do what and when.At a point very near the beginning of the game I began to estimate what was going to happen and guess what?

I was 100% correct…

From the first video that I saw of the game, I glimpsed at glimmer of hope for the mobster sequel. Unfortunately, when I played the game that glimmer quickly faded. My advice, don’t waste your money, your time or you breath.

      Good Points

  • The innovative ‘Don’s View’ map
  • The control of a family

     Bad Points

  • Bad graphics
  • Bad storyline…
  • and even worse repetition

Summary: a rent-out at best

My rating: 4 out of 10

A Trailer DaVinci Would Be Proud Of!

The setting, a beautifully, crisp rolling background of rocky hills, mud-brick huts and disgruntled, stern faced guards. The; approximately 6 centuries in the past. The place; somewhere in the middle east. The game...... Assassin's Creed. Do you remeber the astonishing graphics and the creatively written storyline? Sure you do! Yeah, and I bet that you remeber the annoyingly repetitive gameplay too.

With any luck Altair's second video game outing will be a huge step up from the first. Well I hope so as after my first viewing of this trailer, a shiver went down my spine!

The Way Of The Future!

There are tons of random blogs out there for you to find and some of them are pretty good. However, I'd like to think that this one's kinda special. For a start it has (fairly) regular posts which is quite an impressive feat seen as though System Fail News is only ran by one person and it's because of that reason that I need your help.

Like I said the site is only ran by one person(me)and despite all of my best efforts I cannot get more loyal readers like yourself to visit my site. This is why I am encouraging you all to do your best to get as many people as possible to visit System Fail News.If you do you will be able to pick a title for one of my blog posts!

Seriously I'm going to be honest with you there are 2 reasons I started this blog 1)to bring the atest video game news to the masses and 2)to make a little money on the side whilst I study. So without awesome readers (like yourself) I make 0 amount of money and slowly, day by day I lose the will to keep the blog running until one day I will stop running the blog altogether.

Please, please, please don't let that happen and take a look at the ads and widgets on the site and maybe click on one if it tickles your fancy.

Thanks for reading this, it really means a lot.
