Another One Bites The Dust
In these dires times of recession companies everywhere are closing their doors and shutting up shop and up until a few months ago critics claimed that the video games industrywould be unaffected by the terrible economy. Though it is now apparent that the reality is in fact the exact opposite, with more and more developers falling prey to this financial disaster. It seems that Eidos (the folks behind the Lara Croft games)are the latest publishers to go down as they have been bought by the Japanese company Square Enix (the creators of Kingdom Hearts). It really is a shame as many of us loved playing their wonderful open-world FPS Far Cry 2 and had hoped that there was a sequel in the pipeline. I bid them good luck and farewell for their new home at Square Enix.
Sad to see them go? Leave the title of your favourite Eidos game in the comments box below.

Mass Leak On The River Amazon
Let me explain...
A couple of days ago some foolish person at Amazon published the plot for Mass Effect 2 on the shopping site. In the space where Amazon post a pragraph telling you a little bit about the product, for Mass Effect 2 they have done exactly that only where they should have put a small xdescription of the game the have instead posted the plot:
"The second chapter in the Mass Effect trilogy takes you to the darkest reaches of space, where you must uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of humans across many worlds. Prepare yourself for a suicide mission to save mankind. Travel the galaxy to assemble a team of soldiers and combat specialists, and launch an all-out assault on the heart of enemy territory."
My guess is that Mass Effect (1+2) developers BioWare won't be too happy about this!

You Can Call Me Don
The chances are that the majority of the people reading this have seen at least one of The Godfather films are pretty darn high but most of you may not have played The Godfather video game. Well the first game too repetitive and pretty mediocre at best and so for the fairly small group of us who played the first movie tie-in game, the premise of a heavily, and yes I do mean heavily , improved sequel was a delightful change for the better. Don't beleive me? Take a look at the new trailer for the game below.
Fan of the films? Why not buy them on DVD? Or instead you could just pre-order the game!

Dogooders In Tights Lol
When I started this blog a few months back I promised myself that I would never use the phrase ‘lol’ in a blog post or title. However with the Batman: Arkham Asylum gameplay trailer featuring the Joker I thought that it was highly necessary to put it in the title of the post.

Big Rebel Daddy
So I’m sure that as a Bioshock fan you will have heard about the featuring of ‘Big Sisters’ in the hugely anticipated sequel to the hit video game Bioshock, Bioshock 2. However you probably didn’t know that the game may also feature the original Big Daddy. In fact not only will it just be in the game you will even get to play as it, 10 years after the first Bioshock game too. After considering every conceivable reason for ‘playable Big Daddy’ I eventually gave up and found a reason elsewhere. That Video Game Blog (TVGB) are saying that the Big Daddy that you play as is a “renegade” one of that. The same site is also saying that this Big Sister that we keep on hearing about will be Bioshock 2’s antagonist.
Want to catch before the sequel’s released?Well then pre-order Bioshock from Amazon.

An Online Alternative to Guitar Hero
It’s a well known fact that Activision and Harmonix rule the music rhythm genre of video games, though for many gamers splashing out hundreds of dollars to buy peripherals hardly seems like a great financial move in this time of economic insecurity does it? This is why below I have written about one of my favourite free online alternatives to Guitar Hero.
The online game that I’m talking about is the marvellous JamLegend.Made up of about 100 (maybe more) rocking tunes, all of which are available and require no unlocking at all, this site is by far the best equivalent to Guitar Hero when you’re sat at the computer.
Another great feature to the site is the competitive multiplayer AKA ‘showdowns’. While not as advanced as that of Guitar Hero showdowns pit you and lots of other JamLegend users against each other with one aim, to rack up as many points as possible. JamLegend has a ton of other excellent features to it including these, it’s free to use, songs added every few days and there are leaderboards too. Plus if you’re using a desktop PC you can pick up the keyboard and play it just like a guitar, the same control scheme as Guitar Hero. I advise you to check it out as it’s a lot of fun, free and there are absolutely no ads. So why not give it a go?
JamLegend or Guitar Hero? Which one do you prefer? Pick one and say why in the comments box below.

Exclusively on Nintendo Wii.
Judging by the video below the game looks set to look like the fight for the last Krispy Kreme at a Weight Watchers meeting.
